It was to me "Way Better then the first one. I think The female Judge should have kept her helmet instead of trying to show herself on the Silver Screen.. Other then that.. It was Awesome to watch... 10/10
I was pleasantly surprised by how good this was , enough to recommend to others as it is much better than the original . They could continue this franchise with no problem at all.
film was quiet good , reminded me off a film where a insurance man gets trapped in a building & has to escape from the gang members, other than that , enjoyed the film
I dont know why people think this is crap cause i freakin enjoyed it, it was fun and did a good job at grabing my attention all the way to the end def worth a watch
Far more grittier and tougher than the 1995 hokey garbage that Sly starred in, this one is more faithful to the comics. Karl Urban is terrific as the title character and Olivia Thirlby does a good job in her first action film. Plenty of action and graphic violence, but they don't go overboard. Lots of slow motion sequences kind of drag things a bit but at least they serve a purpose here. (3 stars)
plenty of it. storyline suffers somewhat, but if you appreciate dark wanton death, this movie will hold your attention for at least more then half the runtime. psychic girl is hot in a pixie-ish sort of way. gore is plentiful. video and sound quality is tolerable. 4/10
Main character, I thought fit the part a lot better then Stallone did. Stallone was bad ass don't get me wrong. But this character acted like he was smarter and could think and act quicker on his feet. Also having a partner with unique powers was kind of a cool twist.
I was a bit skeptical about viewing this movie with thoughts of it not living up to the other. The crew did a great job in telling a different storyline (which is what i expect reboots to do) . So, unlike the newer Halloween reboot franchise...this is a happy outcome. The movie keeps you entertained. I, for one, am satisfied with having watched it. 9.8/10
OK I was a Dredd comic reader so my opinion counts. This film didn't catch the atmosphere of the comic. Ok this character is played better than the one played by Stallone but the previous film was closer to the comic. Also this film is about a simple case...where are the waste lands..the machine revolution..and so many well know other stories at the Dredd universe..where is Walter!!!... OK this is NOT a DREDD film it's just another bang bang movie..so fans do not expect much...
I am going to have to say it was a great movie. When I first seen the previews of this movie I thought it was going to be a bad remake of the Sylvester Stallone Judge Dredd and thought would be hard to pull off. Yes it's a different Dredd and a different story line. I think that is why this movie is really a bad ass movie. I loved both the 95 and 2012 movie good job. Thanks Zmovie
a lil depressing of a movie. Dredd reminds me of some SEALs I know who are a bit darker, and don't really smile much... In deeper terms there is allot of pain there. That said...The movie can't be knocked. Its a solid kill everyone and be a bad ass type of show and this movie gets extra points for demoing A Power Psychic as supporting female actor. I dig that. My connection was a lil blurry, and I've been doing lots of healing meditation... so kill everyone isn't as appealing as it once was to me, lol. Over all good story but not a compelling movie to me personally. Thanks ZMovie-
Much more serious than the old Dredd, so as a judge in a violent and crowded world, he was portrayed very well. A very focused story line, but well worth the watch.
Dredd has been around for about 35 years in cominc form, so it's difficult to compare a film to all those years of multi-layered story telling. A vast improvement on Stallone as Dredd, but there are still many aspects of the film that do not fit the story. Having said that , it was an enjoyable movie and a vast improvement on the last one. Watched on Worldvid, cam was watchable (you get what you pay for) so no complaints there. As a film I will give it a 6.5 out of 10, but would have scored it higher if I had not been a reader of 2000AD
i seen this movie and i got to say its not the greatest but not the worst i seen . i like the 95 version one with Sylvester Stallone and Rob Schneider that movie is one of the greatest movie ever better then this trash . for one he never took of his helmet and he always act like he was a big shot . I think this movie blows its not the dredd that i know even if i didnt read the comics .
Great Movie! You cant compare the comedy goof ball 1995 version to this more serious realistic film at all. This Dredd movie stands alone and has more substance!
if this movie doen't make it's money back at the box office it won't be because people saw it and hated it. but rather because they didn't even bother to look.
if by some chance it does get overlooked. iguarantee without a shadow of a doubt that This movie wll acquire a sizeable cult following in years to come when people see it for free on cable.

Smh that's a lie.Dredd is ok at best.A more realistic rating would be 6.As far as the quality goes 7/10 video (in & out of focus all the way thru the movie),audio gets a 7/10 too (there are multiple times when the sound is actually more of an annoying noise & you have to turn the sound down if you're using headphones)
They got to stop screwing up these great movies. These remakes suck why not keep the story the same and just add the extra effects. This movie is shit boring as hell not worth the time. Bunch of untalented cunts cant watch no more decent movies anymore.

it's not that the 95 movie was godawful which it was and that rob snyder killd the strength of a potential killer movie. but this guy is speaking of "judge dredd (1995) in the same vein as an action epic that deserves reverence. Which is so ludicrous it is nearly offensive.
Any casual fan can see that This is Dredd is THE REAL DEAL. from the moment this movie starts it just feels and wreaks of authenticity and karl plays dredd with style and furocity. he plays him the way he is supposed to be... A terryfying monster that scares the hell out of criminals.
the 95 movie tried to create a softer more unsure of himself puss. everyone questioned if he was right and by the end of that move he was celebrated for becoming... Cute and cuddly?

Their is no comparrison. Dredd 3D has finally delivered hard core fans "the justice" we have been waiting for....
And idon't want to hear another word about that 95 movie from this day forth.
First of all, it is NOT a remake. More like a reboot. And for good cause, the old film was terrible. That being said, if you have high expectations for this movie you will probably be let down. If you keep an open mind the movie is just one big action sequence in a very claustrophobic environment with some cool characters. Dredd is played especially well by Karl Urban. All in all I'll give it a 9/10. Very solid movie and not a CGI fest like most modern movies.

i am a big die hard fan i've seen my share of clones come and go and one get close. but nearly 25 years later a day i though i'd never see arive has finally come. and from an unlikely place too.
This is die hard times one thousand on steroids. this is a viscious sadistic action packed thought provoking stroke of genius. Relentless and powerful.
the music is awesomly overwhelming. pulse pounding and perfect. brilliant.
the adversary is one diabolical woman. more like a mean alley cat out to do everyone in who tries to sneak by her.
And this is without a doubt Karl Urban's masterpiece. he owns Dredd now. instead of cowering on the first floor when he gets locked in he blitzes up to level by level. and the action gets more ferocious the higher he gets.
it's dredd versus an empire.
Sorry to say it but i loved diehard and i loved dark knight but this is the kind of muscle flexing you see maybe once every thirty years.

Tooo bad Zimmerman did not shoot Martin a few more times. Too bad Martin's amily is out for gold when they should just bury their car robbing, theiving kid. Oh well, not guilty suckers. If OJ can get off with killing, Obama can kill thousands with drone strikes then certainly Zimmerman can get his killing on without reprise.
